GMPLS TECHNOLOGIES: BROADBAND BACKBONE NETWORKS AND SYSTEMS (OPTICAL SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING)
GMPLS Technologies: Broadband Backbone Networks and Systems (Optical Science and Engineering)
Product Description:
Multi-Protocol Label Switch (MPLS) and Generalized MPLS (GMPLS) are key technologies for next-generation IP backbone networks. Until now, however, engineers have been forced to search for technical papers on this subject and read them in an ad-hoc manner. At last there is a book that explains both MPLS and GMPLSconcepts in a systematic way. GMPLS Technologies: Broadband Backbone Networks and Systems addresses the basic concepts, network architectures, protocols, andtraffic engineering needed to operate MPLS and GMPLS networks.
The book begins with an introduction of the nature and requirements of broadband networks. It describes the basics of control-oriented networks and Internet Protocol (IP). The text then examines the fundamentals of MPLS, explaining why MPLS is preferable to IP packet-based forwarding. This volume covers MPLS applications, details IP router structures, illustrates GMPLS, and explores important studies ontraffic engineering in GMPLS Networks. The text concludes with a description of IP, MPLS, and GMPLS standardization topics. Network equipment design engineers andnetwork service provision engineers can reference this book to understand the crucial techniques for building MPLS/GMPLS-based networks. Features · Addresses the basic concepts, network architectures, protocols, and traffic engineering needed to operate MPLS and GMPLS networks · Covers the fundamentals of connection-oriented networks including TCP/IP, flow control mechanism, and ATM protocol · Analyzes MPLS issues and applications, such as label switched paths (LSPs) and VPNs · Highlights IP router structures, examining technologies of data path function - switch architecture, packet scheduling, and forwarding engine · Explores multi-layertraffic engineering, survivable networks, and wavelength-routed optical networks · Demonstrates GMPLS-based routers

ANTENNAS FOR ALL APPLICATIONS JOHN D. KRAUS , RONALD J. MARHEFKA
- Hardcover: 960 pages
- Publisher: McGraw-Hill Science/Engineering/Math; 3 edition (November 12, 2001)
- Language: English

Product Description
This is an exciting revision of John Kraus' classic book Antennas, which has been long known as the "Antenna Bible". A new co-author, Ronald Marhefka has joined the author team for this revison. Many new, modern applications have been added-thus thetitle change to Antennas with All Applications. As well, the references have been updated to include recent additons to the literature.Additionally, the book has been reorganized to make it more user-friendly for both students and professionals. The book now covers the fundamentals of various antennas and concepts in the first half of the book and then gets into more details on those same topics later in the book. This allows a one-semester course to just cover the fundamentals if desired, and a professional to focus on advanced topics if he or she wants.

INTEGRATED FREQUENCY SYNTHESIZERS FOR WIRELESS SYSTEMS
Integrated Frequency Synthesizers for Wireless Systems
Product Description:
The increasingly demanding performance requirements of communications systems, as well as problems posed by the continued scaling of silicon technology, present numerous challenges for the design of frequency synthesizers in modern transceivers. This book contains everything you need to know for the efficient design of frequencysynthesizers for today's communications applications. If you need to optimize performance and minimize design time, you will find this book invaluable. Using an intuitive yet rigorous approach, the authors describe simple analytical methods for the design of phase locked loop (PLL) frequency synthesizers using scaled silicon CMOS and bipolar technologies. The entire design process, from system-level specification to layout, is covered comprehensively. Practical design examples are included, and implementation issues are addressed. A key problem-solving resource for practitioners in IC design, the book will also be of interest to researchers and graduate students in electrical engineering.
