The Principle of Sufficient Reason (PSR) says that all contingent facts must have explanation. In this 2006 volume, which was the first on the topic in the English language in nearly half a century, Alexander Pruss examines the substantive philosophical issues raised by the Principle Reason. Discussing various forms of the PSR and selected historical episodes, from Parmenides, Leibnez, and Hume, Pruss defends the claim that every true contingent proposition must have an explanation against major objections, including Hume's imaginability argument and Peter van Inwagen's argument that the PSR entails modal fatalism. Embedded C Programming and the Atmel AVR | This is a great book on embedded C programming. Although it focuses on the Atmel AVR microcontrollers, it is a useful reference for anyone doing embedded development! I have been an embedded systems developer for years and this is the first book that I have found that I keep at my desk for quick references – for software and hardware! If you know of the ATMEL AVRs, then you probably should own this book. If you are enw to the ATMEL, try this book or the “other” AVR book “Programming and Custominzing the AVR Microcontroller” ISBN 007134666X (by Dhananjay). This one is great for first timers learning microcontrollers. I picked up the Dhananjay book, never having done any microcontroller stuff, and was jamming in a week!!! This C-programming book starts out a little slower, as it has to teach some C-fundamentals….nevertheless, both are excellent books for one of the best 8-bit microcontrollers out there….a great starting point for students and engineers.

It actually is a relief to me that so much of this is considered controversial or fringe, which is so absurd. perhaps there’s a conspiracy by creationists/intelligent designists to select evolutionists as their advanced life forms. I want to be carful not to miss anyone who 400 years after Galleleo’s trial, decides now that he still needs forgiveness. We are truely at the threshold of a brave new world.

Writing Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror | The general writing tips in this book are good, but I was a bit disappointed in the amount of tips specific for SF. There are few tips for fantasy, and almost no tips for horror writing. The book does handle basically all aspects of writing thoughs, from the first ideas and how to get them to how to find a publisher, so unless you already own books on writing this book is not a waste of money. I must say that in its further reading and publishing your book sections it is British-centered, but the general ideas there also hold true for America.
