MULTIAGENT ROBOTIC SYSTEMS BY JIMING LIU

Multiagent Robotic Systems by Jiming Liu

Book Description:

Providing a guided tour of the pioneering work and major technical issues, MultiagentRobotic Systems addresses learning and adaptation in decentralized autonomousrobots. Its systematic examination demonstrates the interrelationships between the autonomy of individual robots and the emerged global behavior properties of a group performing a cooperative task. The author also includes descriptions of the essential building blocks of the architecture of autonomous mobile robots with respect to their requirement on local behavioral conditioning and group behavioral evolution. After reading this book you will be able to fully appreciate the strengths and usefulness of various approaches in the development and application of multiagent robotic systems. It covers: · Why and how to develop and experimentally test the computational mechanisms for learning and evolving sensory-motor control behaviors inautonomous robots · How to design and develop evolutionary algorithm-based group behavioral learning mechanisms for the optimal emergence of group behaviors · How to enable group robots to converge to a finite number of desirable task states through group learning · What are the effects of the local learning mechanisms on the emergent global behaviors · How to use decentralized, self-organizing autonomous robots to perform cooperative tasks in an unknown environment Earlier works have focused primarily on how to navigate in a spatially unknown environment, given certain predefined motion behaviors. What is missing, however, is an in-depth look at the important issues on how to effectively obtain such behaviors in group robots and how to enable behavioral learning and adaptation at the group level. Multiagent Robotic Systems examines the key methodological issues and gives you an understanding of the underlying computational models and techniques for multiagent systems.

PDA ROBOTICS BY DOUG WILLIAMS

was interested in electronics and robotics so I purchased this book. The flow of the book is a little choppy but I must say that the information helped me win high school science fairs and I am now studying electrical engineering at university! The support site is great and Ithe author was very helpful. The well writen software projects Idownloaded from the support site helped my dive into the project and allowed me to get a solid understanding of PalmOS, windows CE development, circuit fabrication andPIC programming. The project does required that you purchase a PIC programmer but if you are to pursue a career in robotics it is well worth it! Thank You!

PROGRAMMING THE FINITE ELEMENT METHOD, 2/E BY I. M. SMITH,& V. GRIFFITHS

Programming the Finite Element Method, 2/e by I. M. Smith,& V. Griffiths

This title demonstrates how to develop computer programmes which solve specificengineering problems using the finite element method. It enables students, scientists and engineers to assemble their own computer programmes to produce numerical results to solve these problems. The first three editions of Programming the Finite Element Method established themselves as an authority in this area. This fully revised 4th edition includes completely rewritten programmes with a unique description and list of parallel versions of programmes in Fortran 90. The Fortran programmes and subroutines described in the text will be made available on the Internet via anonymous ftp, further adding to the value of this title

Mechanics of Materials Volume 1, Third Edition : An Introduction to the Mechanics of Elastic and Plastic Deformation of Solids

E J Hearn, "Mechanics of Materials Volume 1, Third Edition: An Introduction to the Mechanics of Elastic and Plastic Deformation of Solids and Structural Materials"
Publisher: Butterworth-Heinemann | Number Of Pages: 450 | 1997-08-01 | ISBN: 0750632658 | PDF | 19 MB

One of the most important subjects for any student of engineering to master is the behaviour of materials and structures under load. The way in which they react to applied forces, the deflections resulting and the stresses and strains set up in the bodies concerned are all vital considerations when designing a mechanical component such that it will not fail under predicted load during its service lifetime.

All the essential elements of a treatment of these topics are contained within this course of study, starting with an introduction to the concepts of stress and strain, shear force and bending moments and moving on to the examination of bending, shear and torsion in elements such as beams, cylinders, shells and springs. A simple treatment of complex stress and complex strain leads to a study of the theories of elastic failure and an introduction to the experimental methods of stress and strain analysis.

More advanced topics are dealt with in a companion volume - Mechanics of Materials 2. Each chapter contains a summary of the essential formulae which are developed in the chapter, and a large number of worked examples which progress in level of difficulty as the principles are enlarged upon. In addition, each chapter concludes with an extensive selection of problems for solution by the student, mostly examination questions from professional and academic bodies, which are graded according to difficulty and furnished with answers at the end.

* Emphasis on practical learning and applications, rather than theory
* Provides the essential formulae for each individual chapter
* Contains numerous worked examples and problems

ISBN: 1402046952

Title: Mechatronics: Dynamics of Electromechanical and Piezoelectric Systems

(Solid Mechanics and Its Applications)

Author: A. Preumont

Publisher: Springer (September 25, 2006)

Publication Date: 2006-09-25

Number Of Pages: 207

This volume treats Lagrange equations for electromechanical systems, including piezoelectric transducers and selected applications. It is essentially an extension to piezoelectric systems of the work by Crandall et al.:"Dynamics of Mechanical and Electromechanical Systems", McGraw-Hill, published in 1968. The first three chapters contain classical material based on this and other well-known standard texts in the field, such as Methods of Analytical Dynamics by L. Meirovitch, McGraw-Hill, 1970. Some applications are new (e.g. geophone). Chapters 4 to 6 consist of new material which has not been published in a monograph before. They deal with piezoelectric systems in a unified way, starting from a Lagrangian approach. This book will appeal to the research community and graduate students at the MSc and PhD level
